We don’t make “water-resistant” dog jackets at FELLDOG®.

Here's why....

The pet industry is saturated with 'water-resistant jackets' that rely on a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish, which is a surface treatment applied to the surface of the fabric temporarily makes water bead up and roll off.

Sounds good, right? BUT here's the catch: A DWR isn’t permanent. It’s a short-lived form of weather protection.

A DWR wears off in a short period of time:

·       GENERAL USE: Rain, mud and sand all degrade a DWR finish.

·       MACHINE WASHING: A low quality DWR can wash off in less than 10 washes.

·       FRICTION wearing a harness over the top of the jacket will remove its DWR. Once it’s gone, the fabric wets out making your dog’s jacket useless.

Our DRENCH WATERPROOF JACKET is different. We spent two years developing a waterproof membrane that is specially designed for dogs, its a permanent membrane that is bonded to the back of the fabric.

It has a 8,000 mm hydrostatic head rating, which means it permanently blocks water from passing through the fabric, and taped seams prevents leaks. Plus, it has a 5,000g breathability, which helps to prevent overheating.

Rain stays out. Hike after hike, wash after wash, mud roll after mud roll.

We really do have you covered
